We exist to enable every community to get outside, explore, and push boundaries while protecting our public lands. This includes the physical experiences of the outdoors as well as the creative, emotional, mental and social aspects as well. Whether it’s for work as a professional photographer or for enjoyment as a hobby, photography is a fantastic way to experience the outdoors. This year, we’re stoked to partner with our friends at Flickr to celebrate World photography day on August 19th. Flickr hosts the largest community of photographers in the world by helping people organize and share their photos and videos.
Submissions open August 19th with the opportunity to compete in FIVE different outdoor-themed categories – and the winner of each category will win some epic Public Lands prizes!
We hope this will be the most exciting and inspiring World Photography Day contest yet!
To get started, join Flickr’s official World Photography Day Contest 2024 group and read through the full contest rules. The contest officially kicks off on August 19th so use the time now to find your winning photos and make sure to tag them with the corresponding tags when adding them to the group photo pool.
The contest will remain open until September 8th, 2024. Winners will be announced the week of September 19th. We can’t wait to celebrate World Photography Day with you all!
Public Lands is providing some amazing prizes for this year's contest winners. Please note that, due to shipping constraints, the prizes for winners outside of the US will differ from those for US-based winners. Here's the rundown:
